About
Chemico Floorings
Composition
Chemico
is a Magnesium Oxychloride Flooring conforming to IS-657 & 658 of
1982. Its major components are Magnesium Oxide and Chloride.
Where
it can be laid
It
can be laid on any hard surface such as Cement Slab, Wooden and
Metallic Surface.
Laying
Procedure
The substrate on which Chemico is to be laid is checked. It should
be sound, free of dampness, grease, oil and loose concrete. The
floor is cleaned and anchored with wooden battons.
The components
A & B of Chemico (i.e. powder and solution) are mixed to a uniform
consistency, laid on the anchored floor and trowel finished.
Colours
Red & Grey.
Curing
The finished floor is treated with special flooring oil.

Features of Chemico.
a) Monolithic in nature, hence avoids joints & generation of dust.
b) Harder than Cement Concrete flooring of equivalent thickness.
c) Insects repellant.
d) Fireproof and antistatic in nature.
e) Easily repairable, hence no production loss.
f) Can
be used within 48 Hrs for foot traffic and light trolley movement
and after 10 days for heavy traffic movement.
g) Load taking propensity of Chemico is excellent. Heavy trolleys
and forklifts cause no deterioration of the floor.
h) Shock resilient, can withstand heavy vibrations and traffic.
i) Smoothens trolley movement, hence no spillage of costly materials
being moved on them.
Action
of the following on Chemico
a) Water
Continuous exposure to the water should be avoided. In case water
is allowed to stagnate on the floor, on its drying it leaves white
patches till it fully dries. Slight decolouration can be easily
removed by polishing with special flooring oil.
b)
Acid/Alkalies
Occasional spillage of acid and alkalies will not affect this floor.
However, continuous reaction should be avoided.
c) Can withstand
high temperature as the basic
raw material is refractory.
The above properties
makes it ideal for light, medium and heavy industries in their warehouses,
workshops, shop floors, canteens etc.
Being a light
weight mix it is ideal for mezzanine floors, shipdecks, railway
coaches, etc. Being monolithic and dust proof, makes it ideal for
electronic component industries, precision industries, paintshops,
shoe factories etc.
