About
Syncolite Cork-Filled Underlay
The
Cork-filled composition was specially developed as an Underlay to
receive PVC and Lino tiles/roll for the Indian built frigates by
the Navy and has special features. It is very resilient and can
take up the most severe vibrations and distortions generally encountered
on ships where deck plating is very thin. As it can be spread to
a minimum thickness of 3 mm, it reduces the dead weight considerably.
It is bound with a high-build synthetic resin emulsion. Moreover,
cork base imparts sound deadening properties and it is soft to tread.
Syncolite has
been tested in Germany and meets the Standards prescribed under
IMO Resolutions A 653 (16) and A 687 (17). Further, it carries .a
permanent approval accorded by the Director General of Shipping,
Govt. of India.
Our 'Syncolite'
light-weight composition has characteristics similar to the compositions
laid on ships built in the Yards of the Western Countries. The advantage
of this composition is that it can be laid thin since it is laid
directly on to the steel plates without the necessity of welding
any anchoring lugs and hence can be laid as thin as required.
Density : 1750kgs.perM3
Fire Resistance:
Meets the requirements of IMO Resolution A 687 (17).
Water Resistance
: Tested as being within the requirements laid down by Mercantile
Marine Dept. Govt. of India.
