Syncolite
Underlay
What
is Syncolite ?
It
is a cork-filled composition bound with a high-build synthetic latex
resin emulsion. This composition is used to level the imperfections
on the steel deck plates of a ship, prior to fixing the top covering
like PVC sheeting or Linoleum or Carpets. It consists of three components
viz. Slurry Aggregate powder, Cork-filled underlay powder and Resin
Matrix.
Where
is it used?
All accommodation areas, passageways & other dry compartments of
cargo ships, passenger vessels and other sea going vessels.
What
is the thickness?
Minimum thickness approved for application is 6 mm. However in practice
it is laid 8/10 mm thick so as to provide an even level surface.

Approx. 18 Kgs. per M2.

Approvals
Syncolite has been tested in Germany and meets the Standards prescribed
under IMO Resolutions A 653 (16) and A 687 (17). Further, it carries
a permanent approval accorded by the Director General of Shipping,
Govt. of India.
